And the LandzDown Team is pleased to announce that ESET Smart Security, Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and WinPatrol PLUS licenses have been donated to be awarded to lucky prize winners in games and contests as part of their fifth birthday celebration!

Well it’s that time yet again where we celebrate our annual existence. Today I am proud to announce our 3rd birthday! Yes, three years old!
It is an awesome feeling to know we have reached this age and not moved an inch. We’re still contributing to the community, offering free support for users with computers and highlighting who the scumbags are!
The difference about this year is we won’t be giving away licences to software or having the chance to win some great prizes. But as ever, we offer the chance for you to celebrate with us. Please visit the celebration forum;
It’s been a long journey and it’s a journey we couldn’t do without the fantastic support from our staff who help in our forum and post articles on our blog. They have made a great contribution to this site as a whole.
Our staff consist of Microsoft MVP’s and ASAP Members. The standard is set for us and the support given to our members is of a high degree.
What vision do I have for the next year? Well more of the same. The more we highlight things to the public, the more aware you can all be. Education is a key factor. However not everyone wants that. That’s one barrier we need to try and break down and work at. Not just us, but the whole community.
You can help and expose us to more users who need help. So please take note of some of the useful links below. Please consider a link to us.
So to all associated with Securitycadets.com:
Happy Birthday!!

Yup, I have finally passed my UK Practical Driving Test! It has come finally after my second attempt.
This has been long over due as I have been putting it off for sometime. In fact some years. I’ve always been satisfied to take public transport as a young adult. However with other real life commitments it was about time I needed to do this.
So for everyone in the UK you better watch out! Discuss it here in our forum if you have comments on the UK or even other countries driving tests.

In Britain, we today remember those who fought bravely 90 years ago in WW1. I myself have had family members who fought bravely like many others in that period.
I had the honor to take part in a parade today when I policed an event locally with colleagues. Although not directly at the service, closing roads and such really makes you be a part of the event which is remembered all over the UK.

Don’t forget the two minutes silence on the 11th of November at 11:00am!

“Lest We Forget”
Have you got your own story of this remembrance? We welcome all stories by commenting to this article or chatting about it in our forum here.

It has been almost a month since we turned two years old. And during that time various games and challenges were set-up in order to celebrate and enjoy the fact we turned two. What we also added was a chance to win full licences of programs.
As it’s towards the end of the period, which has gone over it’s planned slot, we still have some licences to give away! They are copies of Sunbelts’ Counterspy and Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware.
To enter on your choice of raffle, click on the links below:
And all you have to do is register and post you want to win! Then a number is allocated to your post and in a weeks time (depending on the amount of entries) we will put all numbers in a hat and draw the numbers!
Simple ‘eh? Go and get your copy!

This is the sole reason Terminal 5 sucks! Courtesy of PaperGhost:

It’s weird that such a costly terminal, run by British Airways Plc, has such poor research. Oh well….

I thought the following was quite amusing ahead of the big fight this Saturday the 8th of December between Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather.

Is this a sign for the fight? Probably not, yet it brought a smile to my face. I wish Ricky Hatton all the best tomorrow and I hope he brinks back the belt. I’ll certainly be watching.
There truely is only one Ricky Hatton
Chat about the boxing in our forum if you wish. It should be a great fight!

Warning! The following may well offend you. If you do not wish to be offended by the worst type of comedy ever! Look away to your right and say bananas!
… seriously, I don’t want to be done for neck strain either … Let’s get on with it.
Some of you may have taken part or even read the thread at CastleCops which involved the authors from a classified rogue. The one thread that had us slamdunking the guys behind IE Defender. Well a week later and I think they are trying to be comedians.
On a different domain to the one IE Defender is on (iedefender(dot)com), they also set-up another domain;
www(dot)xiedefender(dot)com
And up until yesterday, this domain had a 403. Not anymore:

(Click to view a larger copy) – This was the look on the 11th of Nov.
This was the look of the domain on the 11th of November. And this clearly shows the lack of braincells one can have at any time. Not to mention these also create the rogues that cause alot of headache to computer users.
And to think we have lost is like thinking a horse and cart will always win a lap round Silverstone over a F1 car. Not even possible.
It appears the domain in question is changing its content, thanks to a tip from ShadowPuterDude. Would you trust the owners of your anti-malware/virus/spyware to have an attitude like this?

The text the image above shows is now already outdated. It’s changed from:
IEDefender is coming... Yeah it will be today :)
To:
IEDefender is coming...
Now after the attempt to be comedians, these kids have probably stuck to their word and the domain, xiedefender(dot)com has fully changed:

All the free removal tools we recommend will be updated as we have already got all new varients to nuke it. Just get yourself into our forum and chat about this. I’m sure we will.
