One New Rogue: Total Secure 2009

      August 28th, 2008 by AndyAtHull

It’s that time again where we are glad to report of some rogues. This time we will bring the attention of an old friend of ours.

… let’s kick the show off with …

      Total Secure 2009

The following rogue will be very familiar to you if you are a regular reader of this blog. Once you have seen the screenshot, you will understand.

As you can see this one looks very much the same as IE AntiVirus, Malware Bell, Files Secure, AntiSpy Pro and IE Defender. This is because they are from the same lame gang of idiots.

Website link is (do not click unless experienced to do so):

      www(dot)totalsecure2009(dot)com

So avoid installing this! Naturally, some cannot avoid this as it tends to install anyway. So what we suggest (if this has affected you) is to seek help in our forum or by following our own removal guide for this rogue.

Has this affected you? Then why not discuss this rogue in more detail here.

We have also added a removal guide for Power-Antivirus-2009. One we forgot to add over the last month. The relevant link for that is below:

      August 27th, 2008 by AndyAtHull

You would have a thought I would have blogged about IE8 Beta 1, but no! I have cleery been too busy to miss that headline!

… Seriously though the Beta 2 version of the new Internet Explorer 8 has been released. Meaning it is well on it’s way to being a full version.

Remember! Beta is not the full and complete version! It is undergoing testing and will have bugs! Install at your own risk!

      Some links to consider:

Also remember, you can always seek help and guidance in our forum. Speak to us about the new version of Internet Explorer. Tell us what you think!

“Internet-Antivirus” – The latest fake security program

      August 12th, 2008 by AndyAtHull

Here we go again! Another fake security product/rogue/piece of trash! This time it goes by the name of “Internet-Antivirus“.

      Internet-Antivirus

That is what the application looks like. However, when it hijacks, your browser will automatically change to the following. Like our example below, we choose a safe site to demonstrate:

Once you click on the links in the hijacked browser you get directed to either one of the following:

      ia-scanner com
      ia-license com
      ia-payment com
      ia-support com

It’s a fair cop to say that you need to avoid visiting those links. Just like the rogues page:

      www(dot)internet-antivirus(dot)com

This one appears to be poorly detected at present. Both Bharath and SunBelt have blogged about it. And to no surprise, Estdomains Inc are involved.

What we suggest (if this has affected you) is to seek help in our forum or by following our own removal guide for this rogue. And as always, all help is free.

We really need your input on this and hope you spread this around so that others can be warned. Why not discuss this rogue in more detail here.
