Report Rogue Anti-Spyware - Forum Opened

January 9th, 2008 by AndyAtHull

New year and new additions. We, here at SecurityCadets, have opened another forum. After lengthy discussions between our own staff you can now report potential rogue anti-spyware in our forum.

The world of malware is changing day by day and the hunger for money by rogue organisations is increasing. Rogue software is part of the internet now whether we approve or not. But we can do something about this. Make sure new ones are added quicker to right removal tools. Try and make sure we squeeze the money trail and report rogues before they hit the wild.

Don’t get me wrong, you can report things like this already at many places. This is nothing new we are doing here, but we are making the possibilities for reporting bigger and easier.

Our report forum is located here. You’ll have to register to post for security matters. Please also read the pinned topics for general info. All samples or reports will then be dealt with and passed on to the relevant personnel.

Tell you neighbour and their neighbour. E-mail this to your friends. Let’s make this happen

Someone in my family came across these websites trying to get rid of a virus he thought we had. Getting rid of the virus was no problem, but keeping these sites from continually bombarding me with offers to fix problems that weren’t there if I would just pay for they’re services. I ended up having to do a system restore just to get rid of this so-called anti-spyware. I would like to warn anyone not wanting to lose valuable information as well as precious time to totally avoid these sites. You don’t have to download anything, once you pull up the page they hide cookies in you system that will constantly attack you with fake warnings, slowing down your computer and aggravating anyone at the keyboard. Good Luck To All.
