AOL are offering free Anti-Virus software

August 8th, 2006 by AndyAtHull

AOL have just released a free Anti-Virus software package that is powered by Kaspersky. It was free to download and use yesterday.

It’s called Active Virus Shield! And a few of it’s features are as follows:

  • New Threat Response Time of up to 2 hours
  • Real-Time Protection
  • Help Prevent Slowdown During Increased Computer Usage Periods

I might just download this product and write a review about it soon. I suspect it will be a decent product. Afterall it is powered by Kaspersky. Stay tuned for my own review on this!

Edit – Already hit a snag. When installing the software it said that I had to remove my ZoneAlarm Security Suite as it was not compatible. Oh the joys!! I will tell you about it in my review!

Testimonials for SCars

  • "SCars is probably one of the better programs I have in my arsenal to help keep people up to date and cleaned up. Yes, you could tell people to run cleanup programs once a week. Or you could get SCars to remind them!" - Olrik Lenstra
